Games I can’t won’t buy
I was at Target this evening with my family picking up a few essentials. I always, always walk the electronics department. I saw several games I want: BioShock (PC), Transformers (PC), Warcraft III Battle Chest (PC), and then over at the PS2 display, the game that took me completely by surprise, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80’s!!
I have some money in what we call the “Save the James Fund” but I couldn’t wouldn’t spend any of it. I deserve a game. All I got for was money for the “Fund” and I want my present… but I can’t seem to part with any of my cash! I told Jenn today that it’s torture getting money as a gift. I like having money in my account more than having stuff! So I’ll never get my birthday present at this rate.
So my question to you, the reader, what should I do? Should I continue to horde the money, saving for who knows what? Or do I spend a bit on one of the above mentioned games? And if so, which one? Or is there some magical third option I haven’t thought of (no, I’m not giving it to you!)?
The future of the “Save the James Fund” and my birthday hopes and dreams are in your hands. What do I do?

Hmmm, so you said your birthday’s coming. Well, I’d say you should plant the seeds of what you want into someone else. I’m not saying beg, but just make it known that it’s something you want.
Of course, spending a little bit of the James fund just once won’t hurt I guess. Just don’t get carried away. I mean, if that tempts you too much then I wouldn’t do it, but if you can control yourself then I’d say go for it.
James, James, James… Thank God we have Dave Ramsey in our lives http://www.daveramsey.com/
But for the love of our Lord GET the new transformers game AND get the new Guitar Hero game!
But are you saying that out of pity or because you know these games (specifically Transformers) to be good games?
Birthdays are ALWAYS cause for parting with your money.
Dude, Bioshock is way better than a dingy Transformers movie-licensed game. Movie-licensed games have always had bad reputations. Go with Guitar Hero 80’s or Bioshock. Both are great.
Nothing against Transformers by the way.
Lets see I am more of a Mortal Combat, Mario Brothers.
Anyway I can’t remember if its you or David who owns a Wii. So here is a link for Wii games http://www.gamespot.com/wii/index.html
I tried to post a longer reply, but I think its length got it got cut so…
Guitar Hero 80’s let’s just say half as many songs as GH2 for the same price.
Transformers let’s just say movie games tend to blow and its getting reviews in the low 60’s
Warcraft let’s just say RTS fan + WOW fan = gaming gold
Bioshock let’s just say if your system can handle it, get it.
