NLCast Requirements: Part III
This one has been a long time coming. It took quite a while to compile this list of movies that have influenced us. In most cases these movies stuck out because we watched them over and over again. Other times it was a phrase or scene that made us laugh or we found ourselves repeating again and again.
To be a true listener, you must have watched all of these:
- Mary Poppins – Every single song memorized.
- The Blue Yonder (TV) – “Oh, I think I understand.”
- Pete’s Dragon – Every song memorized. “Paul? Paul!”
- Disney’s Robin Hood – Whistled song is a favorite.
- Flight of the Navigator – Time travel is a favorite. “Compliance!”
- Back to the Future – The movie that haunted me my entire childhood (since I wasn’t allowed to watch theater movies) “How do you go back to get to the future?”
- Army of Darkness – “Let’s get the el out of here!”
- Jurassic Park I, II, III, (IV?) – The first movie I went nuts over.
- Trancers II – The worst movie I have ever loved. Great bloopers reel at the end. “Next time someone hands you an exploding ham, remember to pass the mustard!”
- Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers – Simply genious
- Toy Story I, II – My favorite movies. I am a Buzz Lightyear stuff collector.
- Star Wars IV, V, IV – Every child of the 80’s knows why.
- Goonies – When that girl kissed the kid… magic!
- Something Wicked This Way Comes – This movie scared the mess out of me in 6th grade.
- Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom – Same here.
- E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial - First movie I saw in the theater. We cried, we cheered!

Great stuff there. I haven’t seen about 90% of that in forever.
Flight of the Navigator haunted me, my entire childhood… if I never see Sarah Jessica Parker with cripped hair again, it will be too soon.
But that movie is why she still holds a place in my heart… in spite of her current sleazinesses and lack of crimped hair.
Ahh man I’ve only seen i think 3 of those I got a lot of watching to do.
