It’s what we do. Not necessarily on purpose… it’s just how we roll. When David and I first considered doing a show, we wondered if people outside our family would find any of our stories funny. We were glad to be showed wrong. We’re thrilled to be able to share the silly, stupid, crazy, hilarious parts of our past with you. You can laugh with us or at us… we don’t care. If by chance you haven’t heard the show, listen to a podcast!

4. Make your friends laugh

We accomplish this in several ways: When you share us with your friends, they laugh along with you; When you listen but don’t share, they laugh at you. It’s not our fault that you look like a fool laughing to yourself with your headphones in. We’ll take partial credit (blame) but not all.

From it’s inception (it means ‘beginning’ for the middle-schoolers) NLCast was designed to incorporate (means ‘include’) the listener in a way rarely seen in podcasts. Every week we feature your stories whether emailed or called in. When we read or play them on the show, thousands of people hear it. How cool is that? Though we’re a poor couple of podcasters, we do try to show appreciation when we can. Every week we give away a button to our favorite listener submission whether it be written or spoken. If your story is chosen we get to make your day twice. Once when you hear we picked you and second when you receive your button in the mail. It’s like your birthday and Christmas in a row! Right? Hello?

1. Make you some new friends

We’ve said it before but it bears repeating. The best part of our show has got to be the NLCast Forums. We’ve got a lovely group of super friendly folks already involved and we’re always happy to see new faces (or usernames rather). When you post, your family. It’s that simple. What? You’ve never even visited the forums? Give it a shot. Post a hello, come back in just one hour and see if you don’t have at least 5 welcome messages in response!
