Weekend Poll: Horde or Alliance?

Alliance or HordeI know a lot of NLCast listeners play World of Warcraft. I used to too! Though I’ve given up the game, I still have a level 64 Undead Rogue out there on the Zil’gin server. I’ll bet he’s pretty bored… just not… questing. But even though I don’t play… I just gotta say… FOR THE HORDE!!!

What do you say? Even if you don’t play… if you did… would you be the good guys (Alliance) or the baddies (Horde)?

    Alliance is way better. Horde has so much hatred for the Alliance that it makes them into jerks. Alliance tend to not care as much about hating the Horde and therefore aren’t as big of jerks.

    I don’t agree at all! I think all the kids play alliance so generally that side is more petty, spammy, ninja-y and irritating… where the Horde is typically played by older folks. I thought there was drama on the Horde side till I played Alliance. Phew!

    Also, I wouldn’t call it Hatred… of course I played on a PVE server… and had toons on both sides. Maybe folks from a PVP would have a much different view of the factions.

    I have played both horde on a pve sever till 49 and alliance im still going currently 60 on pvp sever i think it pretty much the same Horde have cooler races and more adult people but who said all adults were nice? alliance have more kids true but i find alliance to be generaly nicer and more willing to run you though stuff lend you money ect. so i think its pretty much a tie

    Actually, it is interesting to know that people who have researched Horde and Alliance, and who play each faction found that younger players play Horde more than Alliance.
    The reason being that they are attracted to the evil, bad guy side of the faction. That sometimes doesn’t explain the childlike behavior of people of the alliance but this is pretty consistent of most people. Obviously like James there are exceptions to this.

    If you listen to The Unstance they covered this report don’t ask me which episode though.

    The Unstance?

    I played an Alliance character all the way to 70… then I played a Horde character all the way to 70. Here’s my analysis:

    Alliance tend to just play the game. Neither faction is immune to obnoxiousness. I did, however, seem to notice more immaturity on the Alliance side.

    Horde tend to get into the lore aspect a bit more because they are less human, and more fun to play as characters. What you see as “hate” toward the Alliance is most likely nothing more than fun role-play.
